October 12, 1935 The Birthdate of Pavarotti

Luciano Pavarotti was born in Modena, Italy. This popular tenor made opera accessible for a wide audience in the 80’s and 90’s by performing as one of the Three Tenors (other members were Placido Domingo and Jose Carreras). He is considered the best bel canto singer of the 20^th century and was a renowned philanthropist for humanitarian causes. Pavarotti died in Modena on September 6, 2007 at the age of 72.
